Where:

Just off the A371, on the way to the famous and very picturesque Cheddar Gorge, lies Somerset’s smallest town. Axbridge is tiny and It’s not a place you drive through on your way to the tourist trap of Cheddar, you have to consciously make a turn off the main road to get there. Many people just drive straight past as a result. But as soon as you turn into the town, you’ll realise why it’s worth the detour – Axbridge is a visual delight. An array of half-timbered and stone traditional buildings lead to a magnificent medieval square. Lovers of architecture will adore the square with its higgledy-piggledy buildings, each one with its own historic tale to tell – it honestly is like something out of a film. In the background, the Mendip Hills rise high above the town, providing some lovely views of Cheddar Reservoir and beyond that, the Somerset Levels. This early Tudor timber-framed wool merchant’s house (circa 1500) provides a fascinating insight into local history and is well worth a visit.

  • All yoga sessions with myself in the iyengar method. We will be covering all aspects of asana and pranayama practice and working towards an understanding on how to take this on a personal practice level, upon your return. Our yoga workshop sessions (see timetable above) will be held at Axbridge Town Hall – this Grade II listed building, dates back to 1830 and stands proudly as a gorgeous focal point in the historical square – which many years ago was not only the focal point for many town activities but also a place where punishment was doled out … Perfect for how I teach my yoga classes don’t you think 😛 ? Its located very close to our accommodation and you will be able to leave all your equipment there.

  • 2hrs hands on workshop in the art of Kombucha & Kimchi: We will spend the afternoon with myself & Lucie, founder of Bath Culture House. Learn how to brew Kombucha at home. Discover the steps of how to make this gut friendly fermented drink. Learn how to brew a base kombucha, add flavours, and create a natural fizz during secondary fermentation. You will take home your own SCOBY and have the opportunity to taste a selection of Bath Culture House kombucha. This is a hands-on and practical workshop. There will be time after the session for questions and answers. Kombucha bacteria includes lactic-acid bacteria, which can work as a probiotic. Kombucha also contains a healthy dose of B vitamins. Individuals with liver or kidney disease, HIV, impaired immune systems, and alcohol dependency should avoid kombucha. For others, kombucha is a wonderfully refreshing beverage that has many benefits, when made safely and consumed moderately. Any injuries or other health concerns should be mentioned before practicing yoga and taking part in this event.

  • Film Night. We are so lucky to have a private cinema in one of our guest houses so we will take full advantage and organise an educational,  cultural and fun film night. we will choose one of the following :A bit of history and education with  Yoga Unveiled , controversial food for thought with  Kumare , or one for me Iyengar: The Man, Yoga, and the Student’s Journey… alternatively we do popcorn and eat, pray love…. majority wins…

what is NOT included:
